little girls and pierced ears

ok, I'm having a problem picking what age I should let my little girl get her ears pierced. any suggestions for an age?

I'd say if she's old enough to know what an ear ring is and wants one then she's old enough

that is kind of my feeling about it but then you see these baby's with pierced ears and I'm thinking that is just way too young. I'm kind of wanting her to ask for them instead of just having them done because she is a little girl.

Goodness, I haven't even started thinking about that. I guess I will leave it up to her mother. I say the same about babies though. I guess they won't remember any little pain of it, but it seems like they may be more likely to pull at it, or something.

My little one had hers done at 8yrs. Seems a pretty good age .

I had mine done when I started K so I was around 6 years old. I thew a fit when I had mine done though b/c they pierced one ear at a time so I got one ear pierced and it took them over an hour to hold me down and finally pierce the other one.

it's totally a personal thing...I don't think you can say there is a right or wrong age so?
